Biography

Domini Gibbs is currently employed as an Assistant City Attorney with the City of Miami, Florida where she serves as the Municipal Prosecutor handling all quality of life, code compliance, and nuisance abatement matters. In addition, Domini is part of the General Government Land Use Division where she handles moderate to complex transactional, regulatory, legislative and financial issues, such as contract review, contract drafting, and legislative amendments to policies and the City Code of Ordinances. As Assistant City Attorney, Domini also serves as legal counsel to City Officials, City Departments and several municipal boards, including the Department of Code Compliance, Solid Waste, Office of Communications, Division of Film and Entertainment, Department of Planning, the Code Enforcement Board, Nuisance Abatement Board and the Code Compliance Task Force.

Before serving as Municipal Prosecutor, Domini lead the Public Records Division where she managed a team of paralegals ensuring the City’s compliance with Public Record and Florida Sunshine Laws. Prior to becoming an Assistant City Attorney, Domini served as Chief of Staff to the Honorable
Commissioner Frank Carollo for the City of Miami. As Chief of Staff, she led the daily operations for the Commissioner and the District 3 office while managing several staff members. Tasks ranged from handling constituent concerns to overseeing matters related to capital improvement, affordable housing, as well as policy matters, such as drafting legislation and
community redevelopment affairs.

At Lynn University, Domini works as an Adjunct Professor teaching Business Law and serves as a board member for the University’s College of Business and Management, College Advocacy Board. Additionally, Domini mentors law students from her alma mater, Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University College of Law and she volunteers and mentors younger lawyers through
various legal organizations.

Domini is a member of the Florida Bar, the National Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association, and the City, County, and Local Government Section
for the Florida Bar. Domini currently serves as an Academy Fellow for the WM. Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy Class VII of the Florida Bar. In 2018, Domini was a recipient of the National Bar Association’s 2018 Nations Best Advocates -Top 40 Under 40 Award; as well as Legacy Magazine’s South Florida’s Top 40 Under 40 Leaders of Today & Tomorrow.
