Dr. Charity Oyedeji, MD is an Assistant Professor at Duke University in the Division of Hematology. Her research focuses on sickle cell disease and aging. She has earned several grants and awards through the NIH, American Society of Hematology and aging awards for her research. She is currently leading the SILVR Study (The Sickle Cell Disease Functional Assessment Validation and Refinement Study), where she is validating a geriatric functional assessment tool for early detection of impairment in adults with sickle cell disease. She also is the principal investigaor for the SickleFit Study which is an exrecise intervention for older adults with sickle cell disease. She is interested in developing personalized interventions to improve function and promote healthy aging in people with sickle cell disease.
